The short version

I'm a product and systems designer in Perth who builds what I design. I studied experience design at Curtin University, with a minor in photography, and I've kept both habits: research first, and attention to the small details nobody asks for.

I design large systems, not single screens: how the data is shaped, how work moves from one state to the next, who can see what, and where AI takes work off people's hands. Samsby is the biggest of them, one system that runs a trade business, with Sam, an AI receptionist that answers the phone, and AI that drafts replies, quotes and follow-ups for the owner to check and send.

I take each product from the first conversation to the store listing: the interviews, the system design and the screens, then the React and React Native code, the database, the release and the fixes the week after. LiftGauge, Velochat and Samsby are all running today.

I'm an upbeat team player who likes a hard problem and a clear brief. Outside work I ride and lift.

Profile

I design whole systems, and the AI that works inside them, then build and ship them. Three of my products are live and in daily use: business software with an AI voice receptionist that runs a trade business, a social app for cyclists, and an offline-first training log. I work from the data model to the last screen, alongside the people who use the product every day.

    • Sam, an AI voice receptionist that answers the business number, takes the job, screens sales calls and texts back.
    • One inbox for calls, texts, emails and forms, then jobs, quotes and invoices, with AI-drafted follow-ups the owner approves.
    • Runs Yong's Carpentry every day; the public site and waitlist are live at samsby.com.au.
    • Each job keeps its emails, texts, photos, notes and to-dos in one place, and moves through a pipeline from enquiry to paid.
    • Quotes and invoices carry GST and deposits, go out as an online link and a PDF, and queue their follow-ups in a daily brief.
    • Product and systems design, the AI, full-stack development and the brand, from the data model to the last screen.

    • Built the shift schedule and gave each person the tasks that suited them.
    • Handled customer complaints and requests quickly and fairly.
    • Looked after stock, cash handling and food safety.
